More good news for the Wilson el stop

By Patrick Erwin, editor

All aboard!

Earlier today, Alderman James Cappleman’s office announced additional funding for the Wilson CTA stop.

A few weeks ago, Senator Dick Durbin’s office announced a $6 million allocation to the el stop. The primary reason there appeared to be to make the stop accessible, although the remaining funds were to be used to clean and refurbish the station.

But today’s news makes the project a much larger one in scope.

The great news? The Wilson stop will no longer be a contender (or in some cases, winner) of the ‘worst el stop’ contest.

Students, however, may experience some short-term inconvenience if all or part of the station closes during renovation (as most stations do).

You can read more about the expanded scope of the CTA project here.
