Last week of Black History Month events

By Patrick Erwin, editor in chief

There are still several Black History Month events happening this week at Truman as the observance concludes.

Monday, February 27:A Networking Affair” will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the cafeteria. This event will discuss best practices for networking when seeking a job, including tips on how to work a room and using business cards.

Tuesday, February 28:Name That Tune” is a game where participants will be asked to name that Motown tune in as few notes as possible. This will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the front lobby.

A triple feature of films – “Diary of a Mad Black Woman,” “Do the Right Thing” and “Carmen Jones” – will be show on Tuesday starting at 3 p.m. in the cafeteria.

And the closing ceremonies for Truman’s observance will start at 5 p.m., also in the cafeteria, and include a fashion show.
