The Uptown Exchange will be hosting an event during the Earth Day celebrations this year, examining the effects of plastic pollution, specifically plastic bags and bottles.

The documentary “Bag It: The Movie” will be shown on Monday, April 23 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in room 3426 (Novar Hall) at Truman. After the film (which runs a little over an hour), a panel discussion featuring several speakers will follow. That panel will include 46th Ward Alderman James Cappleman and Truman’s President, Reagan Romali.

If you’re curious about the movie, which was released in 2010, here’s a peek at the trailer.
